We did our bit

No I don’t believe the donors are knackers, I believe there are a lot of knackers who talk shit on social media and would love any excuse to do so.
Well you said you can’t invite every donor and if you could invite 500 of them the other 500 knackers would complain so that looks to me as though you were calling the donors knackers , if I’m wrong about that I’ll apologise but I’d be choosing my wording differently in future

Point is the so37 lads don’t seem to want much transparency , as for if the displays made public we all seen it on Friday when pictures of the stadium were shown and you could make out what it was

I should have been clearer to be fair - for 500 donors that get in, 500 knackers will still complain, not necessarily the remaining 500.

I think they’ve been completely transparent throughout. They posted the design the club refused them, posted where the money went and kept what they had up their sleeve - appropriately so - until the day of the match, pretty much. I’ve got no real complaint to make of how they’ve handled yesterday.

I’ve got a litany of complaints to level at the club though.

The original display was imo just stupid , no way would any club sign that off.
If 500 non donors complained then who cares , they didn’t put anything in so have no say whatsoever , those donating are the only people who should be invited and tbf most would most likely decline an invite .
My point is in my opinion they seem like a closed shop and don’t want any input from their donors and don’t take criticism kindly

What do you want them to be transparent about that they aren't already transparent about ?

Do you want them to publish thier group chats so everyone can see how they arrive at decisions over the displays ? Why is it only Sunderland and Sunderland fans that always seem to want to sabotage ourselves?

Loads of clubs in world football do displays and the likes and the fans of those clubs support them and trust them . It's only at Sunderland where our own fans seem to want to attack other fans who are doing something positive..it's bizarre.

No fans group in the world is going to make things like this entirely public in the lead up to the game. Here's an idea for anyone wanting to know what the display is before the day of the game - get involved in the organising, setting up, cleaning up and give up 100s of hours voluntarily, then you can be involved in the decision making

It's anything but a closed shop. They constantly plead for more help

As I originally said I couldn’t be arsed in getting involved and have no desire to give up my time to do shite like that

Transparency as in organising meetings with donors etc and displaying accounts on a quarterly annual basis etc is what I’m saying would improve them and maybe something they should have been doing from the outset

Thank you - I couldn’t have been so eloquent with the clip I’m in today

The invoice was made public the day the order went in

And when exactly would you have held this meeting ? Where would you have held it ? How many people would you invite and how would the meeting go down? You ask 500 for Thier designs, put them on the big screen and vote on them over the course of the night ? It's an absurd idea . Anyone who donated did so with the clear condition that the group would decide on the design, and do all the running around and volunteering.

Further to this:

1) how many donors are invited to the meeting?
2) how do you invite them?
3) where should the money come from to pay for the meeting venue?

4) If quarterly accounts need to be published then who is covering the cost of setting up the company and the accountancy costs?

If anyone needs to be transparent it should be SAFC who repeatedly agree to displays and wait until an order is placed to revoke permission.

The fans were amazing. The volunteers were amazing. The display looked amazing (in our opinion)

We’ve done everything we can. We’ve taken enough of a battering from our own fans. We’re done.

Thank you for all your support. Fuck the mags.

Goodnight.
This just sums up where things are with the hierarchy of our football club.
Committed passionate fans like you and the others who’ve went beyond the call of duty to make things better on match days.
KLD should be calling you in and asking what he can do for you and putting the resources of the club at your disposal.
More shame to heap on the fuckers.
Well done to you and all the rest for your efforts mate.

I said it on another thread but again I think it's shameful the club couldn't organise a burger van to feed and water the lads setting up a display. Any amount of local vans would be more than willing to set up for the day if they were getting a grands worth of business. Give the lads a voucher for a tenner or so and the club foots the bill from the van. Takes fuck all to organise. The lads having to lump over to B&M to get drinks is shameful

This...

Not saying I agree with him mate but it would be business suicide to do it.

well then he needs to fuck off.

what other decisions will he be making off the field that are against the interests of SAFC but in the interests of his other businesses. its not the way to run a football club

we are soft as shite us. i include myself in that. its like death by a thousand cuts and 99% of supporters are happy to just sit and watch it happen

@DonaldDownTheWing This is not a criticism at all, I think you lads are fantastic and thank you for all the hard work you’ve put in - gutted if yous are giving up (don’t let the bastards get you down)

But just wondering on the chevron section of the display, how come it didn’t stretch to the back of the stand, particularly in U38/ U39 the last few rows were just empty. Was there just a miscalculation and you didn’t have enough? Or some other reason?
