Spirit of 37 - display v Newcastle

Patterson is red and white through and through
He's a Wallsend lad though initially.

But I take my hat off to him and his family. They didn't drive in his younger days and would get the metro round the loop to seaburn and walk down to the academy and do the same back each night.

This rears is head each Derby. My opinion is if they've came through the academy system then theres no issues as they're now part of the fabric of the club. The issue comes when we sign the stupid bastards once established Lee Clark and that prick Chopra.

That should never ever happen again.

The most mental of them all.

Nobs, tits, and wankers is what I sing.

I've never heard of anyone singing puffs either, so I'm presuming it's just a few morons in the South Stand.
I'm not saying it's right but for as long I've been going to the match it's been puffs like. It was certainly what was being sung on Saturday. I do sit in the south stand.

He has always been red and white though.

Can’t be added with the whole thread being turned into a Debate about a word ffs.
People will sing what they want whether it’s right or not, unless Amad comes and asks them not too…..

I found out last night that mags employed by safc have been given tickets in the mag end rather than being able to use their complimentary tickets.
Bent over.

The mags employed by SAFC are costing us a lot of money. We could easily accommodate an extra thousand or so extra away supporters that would generate money for the club but seemingly can’t for health and safety.

Yet when their mates want to come we not only bend over backwards to welcome them but give them our Black Cats Bar. It’s criminal and needs addressing asap.

I take your point then why don’t we maximise business when we could easily sell more away tickets to bigger clubs in this division?

We have rightly pissed off Leeds and Boro recently and chucked good money away which could go into the club.

Whoever is making these crazy decisions at the club needs sacking.

I agree. However some have suggested it’s only done ahead because Newcastle have covered the cost of extra fans not Sunderland. I’m sure if we could have made more money off boro and Leeds we absolutely would have

That sounds like basic employee care. It also means one fewer skunk for each complimentary ticket and one more of us. With the added bonus that skunks with enough points didn't get a ticket.

Fair enough mate. I have no issue with giving them the 6,000 it’s the Black Cats Bar that annoys me.

Giving an extra thousand or two to bigger away teams to fill seats and generate income needs to be looked at imho because if we are not selling out we are chucking money away. I fully appreciate there maybe extra costs associated but why doesn’t the club make it easy for supporters to support like we have with the Saudi game.

The hypocrisy of the club is disappointing and you can understand supporters being annoyed when it looks like we are bending over backwards to keep the Saudis happy. We should grow some balls and told them to feck off and allow supporters to peacefully demonstrate with banners. We live in a country where peaceful protest is allowed unlike some states here you are pushed off a tall building for being gay.

For me they should have looked after those supporters who stuck with the club when we were stuck in league 1. All those who kept their ST during that period should have been given a freebie for this game and a pint/pie.

There were some horrendous matches watching absolute shite and some of us stayed loyal.

I don't think it would generate much, if any extra income when you consider the extra costs that comes with having a larger away attendance; policing/stewards/caterers would be the obvious example of fixed cost increases. There'd likely be loads of background costs too: licensing, insurance, admin etc.

We already get gates of roughly 41,000-42,000 on matchdays, an extra 1,000 away fans likely isn't worth the hassle and cost.

I agree with the BCB, atleast we've charged them £600 per head for it though.

Tell me about it, we experienced some very dark days in Div 3.
