Spirit of 37 - display v Newcastle

I disagree. As soon as they’ve allowed them to have the North stand lower we’ve made the most amount of money from them. The club will make a million quid off the mags alone (I don’t know what the split is and how much the club actually get for FA Cup games). That’s a lot of money for us when we are (rightly) trying to run the club as a sustainable business. Everyone seems to have quickly forgotten we nearly went bust less than five years ago. I’ve got no issue with rinsing the fcuk out of them.

Having a party with black and white hung up in the BCB. Its shameful man. Not to mention helping them with their FFP so they can get to the top faster.

1990s: "the Mags or geet soft puffs" - evil homophobic socety

2020s: football club is owned by totalitarian dictator that executes, imprisons, and oppresses gays (campaigned for by local politicians, journalists, musicians, and celebs) - "Look, that copper is dancing with an LGVTQRSLNYZ++ flag. Society has finally moved on"
I didn't say society was perfect but it definitely has moved on and it would be great if our fans could to. We can't change the mags owners although do many people on this thread are keen to protest about them. We can change the words to what we as fans sing quite easily so the sing is not homophobic.

Well said. Totally embarrassing hearing this homophobic chant being sang by many in last few weeks. Things have thankfully moved on in society since this song was conceived. It only needs one word to be changed.
What’s the chant?

I heard that song being sang by thousands in the south stand - and the overwhelming majority were using the word “puffs”.

I’m calling how it is instead of pretending it’s not happening

It’s homophobic because the word hasn’t been changed…and when it was sang on Monday 90% of the people singing it used the original word.

Change the word - job done.
You’re right, agree with you completely we shouldn’t use the word “puff” in 2023. Homophobia has no place in our society now. Change that word in the chant to “c**ts” or whatever

However, it’s a bit f***ing rich a bloke living in UAE is preaching and lecturing to others about homophobia.

Been bought by a high tax-free salary to turn a blind eye on that one?

That's what pisses me off, you know for a fact it's gonna revert to safety issues with the next big away lot in the league right after we've housed 6k in the most volatile fixture we've got. I f***ing hate hypocrisy in all its guises.
The mags employed by SAFC are costing us a lot of money. We could easily accommodate an extra thousand or so extra away supporters that would generate money for the club but seemingly can’t for health and safety.

Yet when their mates want to come we not only bend over backwards to welcome them but give them our Black Cats Bar. It’s criminal and needs addressing asap.

I take your point then why don’t we maximise business when we could easily sell more away tickets to bigger clubs in this division?

We have rightly pissed off Leeds and Boro recently and chucked good money away which could go into the club.

Whoever is making these crazy decisions at the club needs sacking.

Getting back on track a bit (and not about chants), will there be future displays or is this it from SO37?

If it is the end, then thank you for at least trying to do something positive for our club.

Fair play to the lads who do it but it seems a lot of work and it costs an awful lot of money. I'm not sure it's worth it

I worked for the FCO on International Development, supporting British nationals, on a fully taxed UK salary...

...I live in Durham.

Why can't can't people grasp that it's not a welcoming committee from our club to the scum , it's the fact they have the money and are willing to pay for and put in place a full transportation of fans to satisfy the pervious safety concerns by the parties involved in the decision making process. Leeds, Boro and clubs would not put these measures in place simply down to the cost involved, money talking again for the scum getting there way.
If u take your point about numbers it’s beyond fcking criminal to give them the Black Cats Bar. Would the mags give us Shearers Bar?

There’s not that much money to be paid as a proportion goes to the FA and the mags get half.

Whoever at SAFC sanctioned giving them the Black Cats Bar wants sacking.

Good but stavely instead of Mandy imho.
