*~*~* Rotherham v Sunderland match thread *~*~*

Tell me otherwise! Simply not good enough on and off pitch! Throw up your answers! He may be all ears!
Not sure Kyril is on here tonight.
If I was in his position I'd currently be doing better things right now than typing on this thread...
White dog shit man, kids today will never see the treat that was a white dog pap.
A true treasure for all of us of a wise, learned age. 😎

Play offs get you promotion like? They get you a chance in a 4 team lottery. Nothing more. The league was there for the taking but we made ourselves weaker.
All I heard in here last season was that we needed to get promoted right away because the Championship would be much stronger this year with the quality of the PL sides being relegated. Now we are maintaining our level of performance in that stronger division and it is interpreted as us getting weaker.

We are dross and have been for a good 75% of this season so far I'd say. The fast flowing quick build up football has vanished. The little give and go's on the run have vanished. Most of them don't want to show for the ball these days man.

I would love to say it stinks of a team who can't be arsed with Beale because he's a shocking appointment but we've been the same way for months now even under Mowbray.

Saved by one massive Jack Clarke shaped bit of paper over one massive crack too many times to mention.

It's all one big circle what leads back to poor summer signings etc etc and repeat. January is a massive transfer window and I honestly don't think he'll splash the cash.

Just got back, very frustrating first half again, nothings changed, no new ideas from the new head coach.

We got away with it at Hull, if the other team scores it’s a struggle to see where we will get 2 goals from, just as well we have Clarke.

I don’t think we can blame the players tonight, in my opinion that formation suffocates us.

Bringing Burstow on, as crap as he is, he gave their lads something to think about, someone running in behind creating space for others if nothing else.

As I’ve said just seems a bit odd that there’s no evidence of any input from Beale.
Great summary.

A lot of people hoodwinked after a win at Hull it seems.
Didn't watch the game last night but i'm pretty worried based on what i've watched all season. Sounds like we only started to play well with 20 minutes to go. The injury situation has been terrible in recent years...

The appointment of Beale absolutely floored me.

spot on

He's catapulted us up the leagues and replaced all our chod players with very talented lads. Could be a hell of a lot worse, aiming shit at KLD for the footballing side is beyond stupid IMO.

Catapulted ? We got promoted via the playoffs from the third division and have sat comfortably just outside playoffs since we got promoted.
Creeped is a better word, creeped into play with a offs two seasons running. Hardly beyond expectations. I don’t remember Bob Murray being held in high esteem for getting us promoted from the third.
Apart from not having a striker and DCM, which are kind of basic needs for a football team of any level yes your right about the players
Are you talking player recruitment or staff recruitment?

Player recruitment has been light years ahead of anything I’ve seen since the Denis smith days

Surely you wouldn’t say that about the last two windows ?

What about the recruitment Alan Durban did in Peter Reid’s days. The most successful team in modern history

Get what you mean but the Div3 season finale was atypical, AN had to win nearly every game to creep us into the playoffs.
Div3 playoffs straight to Div2 playoffs is very rare but aye i completely agree about CDM, ive no idea why Corey Evans is the first time we decided to have a heart.
