Ross Stewart

As a medical paper shows, 70% of achilles injuries patients make a full return to same level of sport.

But 30% dont, which is a big percentage.

Thats why we took the £10m.

Doing the maths on the above, 100% would be £14.2m, which would have been been a decent price for him injured even if it was a lesser injury with a better chance of full recovery.

Did we get the 10m up front ?
football fees are very rarely paid up front; usually paid over installments.

it was said at the recent supporters engagement meeting that SAFC had recently concluded the payment structure for Paolo Da Silva. Remember him.

The stewart deal was 8m for the player. 2m guaranteed add ons. Further 2m if saints go up. Then that'll be structure over a number of payments.

‘Just pay him what he wants Man’
Plenty on here were all for Paying him 30k a week plus berated the club for having ceiling on what they offered
We’ve had their absolute eyes out let’s be honest
The on off saga on the last day of window at least we know now why, crocked

Gutted for the lad. Loved watching him. Buzzing for him he managed to get his bumper contract. 30k a week for 3 years (can’t remeber if it was 4 years)…. 4.5 million. It’s basically a lottery win.

Get well soon but if he doesn’t he’s safe in the knowledge he’ll never has to work a day again in his life.

Thnk fk for his sake he left his 3k a week contract
Tax free like?

Could bump that thread to bits tbf

Shame for him, grateful of the 10mins of stress free enjoyment he gave safc fans at Wembley

he is a very hard working talented , ambitious player

his £10m contract will only part soften the blow I think

Best striker in the league when fit. Wonderful player.

6 months with a hamstring injury is mental though?

Southampton fans said he did it after a 10 minute sub appearance for them and didn’t look injured. Mayenda tore his off the bone for us and only missed 3 months? Either way it’s looking like incredibly shrewd business from the club.

With hindsight, maybe he should have talked to Quinny or Crouchy about being a bean pole and trying to avoid those non contact injuries.

Such a great player for us... moved into space instinctively, great finisher, helped out defensively.

£10m though... 🙏

Best of luck Ross.
