Longship pub closed in Hebburn due to fighting- mags got a hiding.

So did I used to be regular in there back end of 70s till I left Jarrs
G & S S I think the were called?
It must have opened in the late 80s but long gone now.
It was in the top floor of the building next to The Borough
I'm trying to think what that building had been, was it Jackson the tailors at some point. Or had it been where Shephards had been before they went to where Comet was later

Used to work directly over the road to Johnnies was the only pub I knew where more people went in after closing time then where in during regular hours. Was well known for its lock ins, Attended a few work's leaving does there was always a canny night.
Remember being on shift one Neve years eve and watching a right punch up at Johnnies spilling onto the Ellison street , bricks bottles etc getting chunked , fence post being ripped up people being brayed with those as well as pool cues. Started to get a bit worried as it got closer to where I worked even though the main gated etc where shut. Almost hid under a desk in the gatehouse!

Prince of Wales
Cock Crown Inn
Lord Nelson
Murrays
Longship
Lakeside (classed as Wardley though for some reason)
Greyhound
Dougies Tavern
Wardles
The Caledonian
The Clock
The Ben Lomond
Johnnies Bar
The Kelly (current closed)
The Mill Tavern
Crown and Anchor
The Red Hackle
are the pubs still open (probably missed a couple) but loads have closed as well

How could you miss the Boldon lad ?
Anyone mentioned the Crown and Anchor yet?

Still open it is.
And a game of snooker at On Cue

Great place. Full of exactly the type of shady character that all snookers halls should be !

iirc both Jarrow Queens were dumps, but each to their own I suppose.
Me mates mam and dad had the Queens Arms when I started school with him in about 1977. Remember going to his Birthday party there about 1980 and we watched the Blues Brothers on his video recorder. They sold the pub about 1983.

They’re houses now….shock horror. Loads of houses being built, fuck all infrastructure to accommodate the new residents though.
There's a metro station to get them out of town 😂
Urinals were a stone trough out the back with a corrugated plastic roof. Brilliant pub

Is the Long bar (Royal Oak) still open?
Had some cracking nights in there.
