I think a few people are getting a bit carried away with this response, anything controversial was never going to happen with the clubs backing. Doesn't mean to say something can't be done without it by an unaffiliated group.....

Why the whole thing with the donation then? And the initial go ahead?

Why cant they just have come out straight away and said "Sorry lads, we see your point but we cant allow that, due to xxxx, apologies"

Add another couple of drones flying around the pitch which corpses hanging from the drone with the Pride flag

They did back / approve it though, then u-turned 24 hrs or so later

Having being a little bit pleased when KLD made his 'donation'....at the time, it did feel a bit uncomfortable. That said, i naively thought it meant he was thinking the same as we mostly were....that we wanted to make a stand for what we all believe. Hindsight is a wonderful thing....but looking back, i feel a bit hoodwinked.

When something like this happens its easy to think we should have known better. Not true. Better to think the best of people rather than be suspicion. Thats life. But once bitten twice shy. Wont be putting my trust in him again.

Well done spirit of 37. Keep up the good work. dont give up. Next time, lets do it on our own. But dont let this experience stop us. FTM and KTF

Better still get a drone to drop 4,000 leaflets with that message onto the pitch in the middle of the game.

Or just disperse leaflets/fake Saudi blood money to people all around the ground and have them throw them onto the pitch/murderers at various points during the game. TV cameras would be forced to pick up the shower of paper if it was done while a murderer was taking a corner or throw in.

Better still, rain them down onto Howe himself.

I believe that he never knew. Someone else at the club gave the go ahead then said wait let me just check with KLD. Word came back can we be more pro-sunderland? Slight alteration. Then final word of no, we can't have that.

I get why, but a bit of a frightened opportunity missed I feel.

Reading that KLD didn't approve it, the COO did and got his fingers burned. I'm not surprised that Davison has fucked up again, I could never see marketing or the chairman explicitly endorsing anything remotely controversial, would leave them open to legal recourse.

Great week, been brought back to Earth today once again by these incompetent arsewipes.

The order had to be submitted on Tuesday. The club gave us approval on Monday for the original plan, then retracted it on Tuesday night.

The COO approved it, then the chief marketing officer and chairman got involved and suddenly it wasn’t approved.

Multiple people on 6 figure salaries and not one of them can make a decision on their own. They’re sackless.

So the club have cocked it up and wasted money yet again?
