Forthcoming gigs.

What are the improvements? If I'm 50/50 about going to a gig there, I usually don't because it's such a poor venue.
Upstairs where there was only a railing along the side now has a lot more room, with an area at the back facing the stage, with a raised platform.
Toilets are now decent, looks like improvements in the downstairs bars too.
All looks like “work in progress” .

The poor layout and marathon trek to the upstairs toilets is still there tho 😂 not one of my favourite venues either, but the Cluny is also a rubbish layout and that is still very popular ( maybe location and the bar helps??

Steve Mason(with arm in a sling)tonight at think tank was superb as ever. His voice is just getting better and better.Only about 50-70 people there though. Scandalous for such a talent( his keyboard player and drummer were class n'all).
I often think that with him…what do people not get, his pedigree is top notch and his solo stuff is getting better

I don't get it either mate. He should be massive. As each album gets better and better, his popularity seems to get smaller and smaller. Gave it his all last night, even though he must've been sickened by the little crowd. Even took his sling off last night and started playing the bongos, even though his hand looked fucked.

Definitely the layout did me like. Shite to get served & get a decent spot, then get back to the bar.

I’m not as bothered about the Cluny. As I normally get a spot before the band come on, then you can nudge your way back to that spot if you want a pint.

I replied to one of Northern Kins posts a few month ago & suggested a few bands. Think there was Ian Prowse, Skinny Lister, Young’uns & a few others.

There’s not loads of traffic on their socials, so hopefully they read it. Whether they’ll take any notice is another story.
He did play a couple of years back and went down really well.

Make sure that you get there early enough to see Peat & Diesel. I’m guessing that it will be at Rock City and a 10pm curfew.

TMTCH on at 7.45 apparently.
What a great tip, Peat and Diesel superb, well appreciated by crowd. With 10pm curfew, Gogol Bordello just ploughed through the high energy catalogue, too wild to consider getting the phone out for a wee video! Sweating like a geordie in a spelling test down the front but hotel 5mins away so quick shower and out for a few foaming ones after!

I'm pleased to hear that you enjoyed them.
