England test squad for India

Not about his speed. More that he is just poor at that level. Even in county cricket he is often expensive for little return in the wicket column

Zero point are you sure about that?

Lees was the best opener in county cricket last season has improved leaps and bounds since he last played for England

We don't have any backup openers in the Test squad. Picking Potts lets him develop as an overseas bowler so if he needs called up to the main squad then he's experienced it.

Potts is well down the pecking order can only ever see he getting more tests if people are injured. Looking forward to see him doing damage in Division 1.

Much as I like Lees think he weakness outside off stump and he is not the best v spin means I can’t see him playing any more tests been class for us.

But in India as a pacer you need to be either quick or able to be dry up the scoring rate in a holding role.

So they need an option in the pace variety. Wood and Atkinson in the main squad. Archer, Stone and Tongue are injured he's the next off the rank along with Lawes.

Fisher and Potts will probably get carted if they play but chance for them to develop in foreign conditions.

The squad also includes those not picked for the SA20 too.

Why the likes of Dawson and Jacks aren't in the main squad and Bashir/Hartley are. They've backed Leach/Rehan and pointless them lads missing out on money playing T20 when they'd be carrying drinks.

Considering Carse is a T20 England international surprised he's not in SA20, but clearly view him as backup to Wood/Atkinson in case they breakdown.
