Only time I've seen Bashir bowl was in what is now turning into our annual hammering at Gosforth in the 50 Over Cup in August. He was the only bowler who our batters got after bowling 2-0-20-0.

Thought lees might of sneaked a spot in the squad. Good season unrewarded. Would not play in the 1st 11 but thought he had a chance of the 16

He’s only 33. He may not have 20 years left, but he’s a spinner
You'd think Leach and Ahmed will be first choice so is it worth Dawson travelling around India for 3 months or take Hartley and Bashir with a longer term view? To counter my own argument I'd be surprised if Leach doesn't miss at least one game with his Crohn's and the local cuisine.

Depends really.

Leach hasn’t played for a while, if he’s fit then he’s first choice
Do they see Rehan as the spinning all rounder already?

Fine with a longer term view of course, but we’re playing at least 2 spinners and he’s probably the most in form and he can bat well (his batting average > bowling in FCC)
