It’s about 5 minutes walk from The AcademyAH ok. Probably the wrong direction of travel for us but good to know! thanks
I kna, but it's Boro??!But it`s Brian Downey!!??
Artist presale, 4 tickets sorted, £31, that’s my kinda price.Cadillac Three playing Newcastle NX (former 02 Academy) next May
Make sure that you get there early enough to see Peat & Diesel. I’m guessing that it will be at Rock City and a 10pm curfew.Going to Gogol Bordello in Nottingham Saturday, notice they're doing Newcastle NX Thu night. Hate labels but gypsy punk does sort of describe them perfectly. Do a great Angelic Upstarts cover, Solidarity, dedicating it to Ukrainians fighting for their lands.
TMTCH on at 7.45 apparently.I’ll be there! Really looking forward to it.
It may have been mentioned but this seems not to be widely publicised. Paul Smith the night after too.As it happens, I've had a mate drop out of The Futureheads, so feel free to DM if anyone's interested.![]()
It`s been 17 years since their last proper tour. A one-off in London is a very poor show for a band that proclaims to love the UK. I`ve seen them a few times and each time the place was rammed so there`s no excuse saying there`s no demand. I`m quite tempted to go though. Might be the last chance.I see Scorpions are doing a one and only UK show at Wembley Arena @mickb2112. Bit of a shame, I mighta been tempted if they were playing up here.
I was tempted but i don't know if i rang to go all the way to Newcastle when Sunderland has so many great venues.Played my own gig this evening, then I'm out for the next three nights at gigs: The Darkness on Thursday, Tom A Smith on Friday then The Futureheads on Saturday.

Thing is they like to charge top dollar. I recall the last time I saw them at the Academy it was £40 when the average was £16/17. Maybe they think they might not sell enough on a tour without reducing prices! It`s been 17 years since their last proper tour. £40 17 years ago was a flippin' fortune. I`m hearing that the front block at Wembley is £150.Thing is they like to charge top dollar. It was. But i recall it as the only drum solo i've ever enjoyed, when the whole band joined in!£40 17 years ago was a flippin' fortune. I`m hearing that the front block at Wembley is £150.
I saw them with Uli Roth and Michael Schenker where they did mid set Tokyo Tapes and Lovedrive sets. Don`t think they can ever top that.
Who what?Who?
To be honest the only drum solo I`ve enjoyed is Neil Peart - probably the only one where no one goes to the bog.It was. But i recall it as the only drum solo i've ever enjoyed, when the whole band joined in!
