Drawn at home to Mags in FA Cup

I know personally know 5 mags who really don't want the tie.

A long, long way to fall if you lot get beat on the day.

Potentially ends hopes of any silverwear for the season.

I didn’t want it, but now it’s here you have to have optimism and support.
And yeah, could be final chance of silverware gone

We can’t lose. They can’t lose.……..but in a very very different way. Howe will be gutted. He now has a must win game whereas every other game this season has been it’d be good to win. I can’t wait.
They have a must win game coming up v Milan.....but i get your point

How’s it laughable, seeing a SAFC fan base so lacking in support ahead of a cup derby is something I thought I’d never see.
Obviously everybody will be behind the team and hoping to get a win.

It’s been explained a million times that for some fans (not all) Newcastle have fundamentally changed since the takeover, therefore the rivalry shifts as well.

It doesn’t need to be your point of view to understand it, it’s not a very complicated point of view.

It’s not complicated. I just don’t believe anybody who says that. It’s nothing more than a comfort blanket for some to hide behind.

We support and love our club, but we know where things stand now. Its still a derby, it still matters but its just logical to expect a big defeat here.

However, like it or not, an edge has been lost from this derby, it matters less than it once did due to the mismatch on and off the field. Many of us accept we wont get close to you again, but that doesn't weaken our support of our club.

Theres a reason that the era of the 5-1 and the 6 in a row mattered so much and still stick in the mind, the clubs were well matched on and off the field. It felt like it could go either way and that it was a truly competitive fixture that secured bragging rights.

Before that period, during our record low points run, Newcastle routinely beat us, including a 4-1 at the SOL, but that barely gets mentioned because it was expected. There was a mismatch then and theres an even bigger mismatch now.

A truly fierce derby needs to be competitive and played regularly.

They will get ower losing to Milan a lot quicker than losing to us.
Howe will also be pissed off as he now can’t afford to play a weakened team as he would in a game against Hull or Rotherham or Carlisle or Huddersfield etc etc
