Bought Squeeze tickets for next year as the bairn asked to go.
I last saw them live when I was 17, so it's a bit weird to be seeing them again with my own 17 year old in tow!
Looks like a good night on Friday. 40 minute 'history of' film as 'support' (7:30 start) and then a straight 2 hours of Uncle Bill and a couple of sidekicks.
I telt you days ago, man! 40 Years In 40 Minutes. Really good! There were signs saying 'Please don't film it', so presumably they have plans. My Billy Bragg debut, really enjoyed it. Missed the film but, was it about him like? I’ll assume I’ll be able to watch it at some point in the future?
Only issue for me was that there was no drink allowed inside. I mean, I snuck a couple in, but it’s my Friday night, it’s not a play, it’s a gig. Albeit a quieter one. We were allowed a pint in for Spiritulized in there.
Aye, second tier & aye, I’ll take owa lass at Northern Kin. That’s two bands recently, Billy Bragg & Alabama 3 ive went to because I’d never seen them before, but they’ve subsequently been added to Northern Kin. Both have been great like, so glad I went. And they'll probably be playing pretty much the same setlist as when you last saw them! Still great, though, even in the rain and mud at Kubix in the 'summer'.

You must have been upstairs? Always been the same at the Sage in both halls, drinks OK downstairs but not up.
I take it you'll be seeing him again at Northern Kin?
I'll not bother again with Billy Bragg. I first saw him in about 1984 and have loved lots of his music but I found him a bit tiresome last night. The last 20 minutes was great and there were some other songs, especially Tank Park Salute, which brought a tear to the eye. However, he could have played literally another 10-12 songs if hadn't been constantly preaching. And lets be honest as the audience was about 95% civil sevants from Jesmond so he was preaching to the converted. He's the sort of bloke you would tire of after about 15 minutes of chatting to in the pub and, like Shearer, he doesn't half love to talk about himself in third person. He's a brilliant song writer and still a great singer but a bit of a tiresome act for me.And they'll probably be playing pretty much the same setlist as when you last saw them! I didn’t think he talked that much to be honest. There’s bits that relate to the dings that add to it.I'll not bother again with Billy Bragg. It’s the trans stuff that I find rather tiresome and I’ve heard the same patter three times on different tours. No element of society should be singled out for special treatment whether that is favourable or unfavourable.I didn’t think he talked that much to be honest. The whole gender neutral / trans bit lost me like. Felt like it was a bit forced in.
Don't bother she is shit anywaymissed out on Avril tickets for Manchester this morning. All sold out 10 minutes after going on sale. Has anybody used Viagogo before for tickets, are they trustworthy or will I be refused entry on the night?
