Flying drones over Sunderland

he's an antagonistic knacker
I was reading something recently where they think the law will change because of people like him and it will make it more difficult for drone operators.
What’s it like in strong winds?
Haven't had it long enough to say but I got a warning to descend because it was too windy and a gust did catch it at one point and sent it sideways. I guess that would only become a problem if you were next to a wall or a cliff face or something. It has object avoidance so hopefully will keep you out of most scrapes.
The footage was reasonably steady despite the winds though.

there's an app you can get that tells you the windspeed at different altitudes, I cant remember what its called though. Me and my mate were at tynemouth becah with my drone, it was quite windy and I got distracted and was talking to him, then when I looked at the screen the wind had taken it to 1000ft. got a great photo of the beach, sea and a couple of surfers first before bringing it back down.

Naughty naughty. 1000 feet !

I've toyed with the idea of getting a drone but once I've started reading up on them I'm not sure there's anywhere you can really fly them. Only footage I've really seen in Sunderland is people flying around the pier and up and down the river, near the Stadium etc.
Seen a couple of Penshaw Monument but as that is National Trust land, strictly speaking you don't have permission.
Are you actually allowed to fly over the city if you are at a height where you aren't perving in people's windows.
What I was thinking of was something like this but without going on like a bellend.

I was thinking of something like the DJI Mini Pro 4 if the weight makes a difference.
As much as I love the lighthouse, I'm not that keen if I'm restricted to dodging about over the sea.

Are you really just considering being on of these YouTube auditors?

Fwiu - if drone is under 250g you can fly it anywhere with uncontrolled airspace - providing it’s not over crowds like concerts or football matches.

Took it out again on Sunday and getting a little more confident with it.

This one I just hit the return to home button and left it to film.

And one of the first shots I took has made it onto my revamped book cover (which sort of justifies me buying the drone in the first place  )

Superb that pic.
Thanks, meant to be post this one like
