The End of the 16.4?

It’s all fine mate, as ever enjoy the debate, personally I think the skills developed in the short format game are much more varied and continue to develop as each year goes by and imo those skills have made their way to the test arena and enhanced that game for the better.
Totally agree, mind there's always the exception. I think Root's game has deteriorated since he's tried to adopt Bazball. Sad to see.

Possibly mate, think he struggling to get the right balance, personally I think Root is the one person who should have not changed anything with Bazball and should have just stayed the same as he was, so totally see your point.

However I am totally convinced test cricket at least for me is more entertaining than it has even been and the onset of short format cricket and the skills developed have definitely contributed to that imo.

I certainly want to watch test cricket more than I did when I was a lot younger, when i looked forward to watching them 20 over club cricket games that you alluded too earlier in the thread much more than test cricket.

I know watching my club play loads of 20 over club cricket cup matches back in the day was a lot better than watching Chris Tavare earlier in that day :D

Hey,don't knock Chris Tavare. Beer and refreshment sales rocketed when he was batting.
