He doesn’t have the choice here. But he is pretty much showing “loyalty” to his senior players. Rightly or wrongly. I’m not debating that, I am just genuinely interested if it’s not really the thing people make it out to be.

Yeah agreed. I’d still say he’s better than most at this, but he tends to only give players a chance when he’s forced (eg Hume, Ba) and then goes back to a core unless they make it absolutely impossible for him. He’s not really one for rotation overall.

Obviously, you know a lot more about it than me - you watch your team and I don't.

Just going by the fact you're doing well enough in the league, have had some good results (especially away from home), and seem to play some exciting stuff.

If things go well for us we look excellent. If any sort of adversity hits, we can't react tactically to it.

Mowbray has done a good job here, better than anybody probably expected. I just feel like some games the games slip away from him.

That is my biggest problem with Mowbray, he has not learnt from last season. Our home form is shocking for a team getting the crowds we get, it should be a fortress but he has no clue what to do. I go to every game just hoping for a win, even against the bottom clubs.
 
Seems evident to me from recent post-match press conferences that we have a Manager who is very frustrated and unhappy by the one thing we all know and can all see...... he does not have a No 9 with physical strength and league experience able to play up top and finish half-chances in the box - particularly when we play against a packed defence and are more reliant on having such a player occupying defenders.

We've been putting out teams without such a threat since January (although I did think Gelhardt improved in the period we had him) and have had two transfer windows to do something about it. He's been given four strikers, none of whom are currently up to that job.

He knows it, other teams in the league know it, and I suspect it will be frustrating our regular first-team players too. If form & confidence continues to be inconsistent, it will likely mean Mowbray is replaced before the January transfer window comes around (IMHO).

I agree. I think the club will view it as mowbray not getting enough out of the group as opposed to not having adequate options. I don't think he'll go until the summer though.
 
Let's sack the manager and get a new one for a season or so. The manager churn has really worked well for us, each time making major improvements so it's about time Mowbray got "pedalled" and A.N. Other gets a go.
 
Mowbray will go sooner or later. Just don't think he's a manager to get a team up (I know he's done it once over 15 years ago)
 
I think he'll go at the end of the season regardless but I hope we hold him in high regard no matter where we finish in the league. We've played some absolutely stunning football under him after 6 years of absolute utter toss in League One and our previous foray in the Championship.
Who would we bring in though? Obviously that lad who is at Nice isn't available now, but someone in a similar vein to him would be alright.
