Why is it a good draw for Port Vale?
Unless you think they have a good chance of beating you.
It's the worst draw they could have got.
Look at the other clubs in the draw.
They would have earned much more from the others than you, if you look at the financial side of it.
And there's nee glory in it for them really.
I bet the club, players and fans are all gutted they got stuck with you at home.

Because they could beat a championship club at home. Then it's a 2 legged semi final.

And also - won't they sell out no matter what? (not sure how bothered their fans are, or what attendances they get)

Aye, all right marra.

I bet they would all rather be playing you at home, than having the chance to go to Anfield for probably the only time in their lives.
They'll be telling their grandkids about the time they played Boro at home, rather than giving Liverpool a fright at Anfield under floodlights.
I knar which story they would rather be telling.

Not sure why you are getting argumentative - my point is valid.

From a sporting point of view it is the best draw they could have got. They can turn over a championship club at home and then have a 2 legged semi final against a Liverpool or a Newcastle.

They had the chance of a glamour tie, earn serious coin, have memories forever, and they got you at home.

You seem focused on this Liverpool trip. They are other permutations - having a long trip to lovely Teesside on a Tuesday night. I am sure their fans will be thinking they have a shot at beating us at home.

An away trip to any of the others would have been infinitely better than you at home.

You got the draw you wanted, to get just what they were hoping for in the next round man.

I bet you didn't go to Exeter yesterday, and you won't go to this one, but you'll be at the front of the f***ing queue for tickets for the match after Port Vale.

I presumed when I said "It is a good draw for Port Vale" that people would automatically presume I meant from the view of them actually progressing - as we are the only other none PL club left in.

Clearly I was wrong. FFS.

The four matches Boro have played so far have all been away from home and won in the 90 minutes (no penalties). That's despite resting regular players in every match (for example there were seven changes last night from Saturdays game v Stoke City).

I've been to all those four away matches and Boro have deserved to win them all.

Port Vale will be tough away from home and with a capacity crowd. They beat Mansfield away last night who had not lost all season (19 matches).

If Boro do beat The Valiants, I wonder if they would be the first club ever to get to a League Cup semi-final by winning straight five away matches.

No I didn't go to Exeter. I probably would go to Port Vale if it reaches my points tier. Not that any of that matters.
