Flying drones over Sunderland

Must weigh less than 250g, not allowed higher than 400 feet. And has like a capacity limit on how popular it is - Like flying it over the SoL on a matchday absolutely no go.
You can have over 250g you just need to do an online test thing. The DJI Mini 3 Pro is 249g so no test needed. They don’t let you take off where you shouldn’t be taking off anyway.

You can fly most places itf the drone is under. 250gm. Im thinking of selling my mini3 pro if you're in the market.

Out in the sticks yes

Unbelievable bits of kit. Love mine, just wish i had the time for it.

Should have told them to do one. You know the rules, they don't.
I got a temporary addiction to drone audit videos on youtube a while back. People basically arguing with people who don't know the law.

You can fly sub 250gm drone almost anywhere legally with a flier id number attached. If its over 250gm you need the flyer id and the test but still cannot fly most places legally, unlike the sub 250gm drones.

They are entertaining, but these knackers are going out looking for confrontation, not footage and one of the reasons drone laws ate constantly being reviewed.

I accidentally put the wrong flyer ID on one of my drones and had it there for a year before I realised. No one other than drone pilots knows the guidance and rules.

Lots of people hate drones though and treat them with great suspicion.

They relaxed the laws for over 250g. The only difference is how close you can fly to people.

Whether it's under 250g or over, you can still fly in residential, commercial and recreational areas. You'd need an A2 CofC qualification for a drone over 250g but they're easy to do.

So can you fly in residential areas now? I done the online test, which i think everyone should do as a drone flyer. Its free too which was a bonus.

yeah. here's the rules for most of the drones you can get now which I think @RestlessNatives is probably talking about.

and here's the rules for drones that need the A2 CofC. both still need to be up to a certain distance of buildings. so many rules have been relaxed, I'm really glad I didn't save up for a PfCO as that has now changed and is less than half the price now as well.

I’ll be investing in a dji mini 4 pro in the new year. Live right on the edge of Sherwood Forest can’t wait to get some footage especially if it snows!

Thanks for the advice everyone. Took the plunge and got a DJI Mini 4 Pro.
Bit breezy at the moment so done nothing but straight up and down from the backyard, panning round and taking some snaps.
Quality is excellent even on the basic settings. Potential is huge once I get used to it but I'll admit to bricking it the first time it went up.

Great choice! I'm after that one
