Losing Clarke in January

That’s the thing though, if any of Ballard, Neil, Clarke leave the chances are we’re going to be buying replacements in the Ba, Rusyn, Bennette, Seelt bracket. If we do, we’re going nowhere
If we get £20M+ for Clarke and the owners decided to just reinvest ½ in players you're are still looking at better than Ba, Rusyn, Bennette and Seelt. I think it unlikely that our ambitious young owner is just going to want to perpetually trouser 90% of any transfer profit

It’s going to happen isn’t it.

Sorry, the emotions are still raw from yesterday.

Still p!55ed off with sports in general if you include the Rugby & Cricket 😔
Thus the Amad Diallo rumors of another loan in January…..Clarke to Brentford my guess

Oh woe is me!!!

If it is not decent money we don't sell.
If they go for decent money we buy replacements!
I genuinely think Rusyn is his replacement......if we get an offer of 15m in January he'll be gone imo, hopefully that will be reinvested in the squad

Aye. Was well pissed off yesterday. These days I try not to let it ruin my weekend. Plenty of games left and i believe the team will get stronger throughout the season

When has the club signed a proven player in any position since KLD come in for a fee? The club, the players, the squad know the score. So should fans.

Pembele had a winners medal from PSG before signing for a fee and nigh on 40 games in Ligue 1 under his belt but take your point.

I love the clubs approach of signing young, hungry players with so much to prove. I can see a club with a strategy and forward thinking capability not stop gap short termism which has caused umpteen clubs to hit the buffers

I suspect it would have to be more than £15M and i reckon Adil could well be the replacement , but what ever happens, as you say, hopefully transfer profits are reinvested.

just think Rusyn is more like for like, a right footed, left winger who likes a goal

Yeah I don’t class Pembele as an experienced player. Yeah he has more than someone like Ekwah but he’s not in the bracket of experienced player people want to lead the line.

It’s a big 2nd quarter of the season for us. If we’re not in the promo mix in January I can see some of the bigger fish wanting to leave.

The trouble is selling Clarke for lots of money is good financially, but how much would we need to pay to replace him? We can’t continue to rely on signing players for peanuts and them being decent. The current crop of signings show this isn’t an easy mode!

I feel Bellingham still needs to prove himself abit more to attract Premier League interest.
Absolutely this. You just had to look at the second half on Saturday. Neil must have said, "just take a step back when he receives the ball facing his own goal, watch which way he turns then take it off him." He does the same thing over and again; you know he's going to do it and can counter it, exactly as Stoke did about half a dozen times in the second half. There's loads of potential there but he really needs to mix it up a bit more.
He needs to stay here until he's ironed all that out and for a couple of years beyond, just to be on the safe side.
If we don't get promoted I can see the team getting torn apart.
If we don't get promoted it'll be because the players aren't good enough to play above this level. What's to say teams in the premier league will think otherwise, with the exception of Clarke?
