Psg

5th in the French League, they seem pretty average. We'd give them a good game. I think we'd give most teams a game tbf, I hope we draw a decent side in the FA Cup to see where we're at.

Read a post on here saying that we would have beaten PSG last night and just thought it was sour grapes. Then I saw the highlights and they were right. Their defending was horrendous, that first goal man with that clearance 😳.

Sadly I think the Mags will go through but it's probably better having them in the second round than in the Europa where they'd go far on current form.
Sunderland are the biggest club Michut has ever played for.

Another one for the deluded RTG page.

Their big stars or star probably couldn't point Newcastle on a map or barely gave them a thought, their attitude looked like they thought they could rock up and turn them over, which when you think the mags have a few decent players was beyond arrogant of psg.

This. I think this will show that teams will have to take them more seriously from now on.

This isn't the PSG team that made the final a few years ago. This is a team in transition and that much was obvious. I told the Mags at work as much last night, I thought they had a decent chance of getting a result.

Cheer up Grandad, I was being sarcastic.

He’s got a point, they were only formed in 1970 they were a nothing club with literally no history.

Great result for Newcastle tonight. Hard not to be pleased for supporters on a night like this. But let’s not pretend there was any romance about it. One repressive state beat another repressive state.

Tell that to a lot of posters in this thread- plenty sportswashing going on

Just watched the highlights from last neet, now I'm not a bitter mackem trying to downplay how they played but fuck me if the highlights of the game are a true showing then it shows the foibles of allowing one player to be bigger than the club. The fact mbappe pretty much ran that club over the past few years and now wants away shows player power has run amuck in Paris. Absolutely bang average for a squad that's had souch spent on it they'll never win the champions league now other clubs have the means to compete money wise. Can see it all going to bits over the next few years, always seemed a strange one, take away the amazing city the club isn't exactly a titan never has never will be whatever they pumped into it.

Fair play to Saudi United in stuffing them (through gritted teeth), but none of the teams in the so called "group of death" , are anything like what they used to be, esp' AC Milan.
Ligue Une is weak as piss overall and is only ranked as the fifth strongest league in Europe.
Dortmund are decent but a shadow of the Klopp era, so if the skunks fail to qualify (remember they finished 4th in the strongest league in the world), it would be a major surprise.
Don't expect clarity from pundits on Sky, Talksport etc as they are happy to kiss Geordie ass and spin it like little ol scumcastle are battling against all the odds. Tossers.

Still can't believe some people rate Mbappe as the best in the world mind (or even one of the best for that matter).

Said for years he's nowhere near as good as people rate him, and only produces 10 seconds of quality every 300 minutes. Seemingly did fuck all against a defence that included Lascelles and Burn. He'd get found out if he played in The Premier League, or even La Liga.

Despite playing with so many great players in a very poor league, his stats for both goals and assists don't compare to other world class forwards that play/played in much more competitive leagues. He'll produce even less should he go to a top league.

Psg are going full man utd, they have been awful in 2023 think they've lost 13 games in all competitions since the turn of this year

He'd get found out?

He literally won the Golden Boot at the World Cup less than a year ago, and scored a hat trick in the final?
