I'm just glad that he's stuck to his word and has chosen players on current form rather than reputation.Should be nowhere near the England squad at the minute but that's Gareth for you.
I could be completely misunderstanding how contracts work in football (wouldn't be the first time either) but I was under the impression that if Man City sell him and he takes a lower wage elsewhere, they're still on the hook for paying him the full length of the contract minus whatever he's getting from the new club, so he's on £150k for the next five years whatever. If I was him I’d see out my contract getting the odd cup appearance. He’ll get no where near £150k elsewhere in England. Be daft to give that up, as well as working in the or one of the best facilities in the country.

As I say, could be talking complete bollocks here though
Naaaaaaaaah.I could be completely misunderstanding how contracts work in football (wouldn't be the first time either) but I was under the impression that if Man City sell him and he takes a lower wage elsewhere, they're still on the hook for paying him the full length of the contract minus whatever he's getting from the new club, so he's on £150k for the next five years whatever.

It’s always easier for people to give up hypothetical money.i wouldn't like.
imagine looking back on your career when your 50 years old and telling people that you played for England in a european championship final at the age of 25, then decided to sack your career off for money. he's played 24 times for man city, a total waste of a career
you'd be a old man full of regrets surrounded by material possessions.
its not as if his choice is either £150,000 per week at man city, or the dole
go and sign for villa or west ham or someone on £80,000 per week, you'll still be extremely rich but you can actually look back on your career full of highlights
Not the same imo.Like Maguire should have pushed for a move in the summer
You can spin anything.i wouldn't like.

You’d thinkIf he doesn’t start games while Rodri is suspended, then surely Southgate can’t possibly pick him again
He won’t even entertain the idea of a championship club surely. Even if they went up he’s better than that.Technically won everything there is to win too at an English club.
Internationally was part of a side that got to a major final. Not bad.
Surely the next move for him is to go back to Leeds?
CorrectTerrible signing for Man City imho.
