Kalvin Phillips signing for Manchester City

Kalvin is nowhere near good enough for Man City. Baffles me why Pep signed him, English quota perhaps?

Best wishes,
HB
Firstly, he is. He’s been injured all season but he’s a ball of energy and physicality and he’s a relatively tidy footballer too. I’m not saying he’s on the level Fernandinho was or that he’s a guaranteed 1st team starter, but he’s definitely good enough to be a squad player for them.

Secondly, did you used to post as Jockey? Im
Sure I’ve seen you posting before.

I'm not you said they don't if they don't they should be sanctioned enjoy your night

It’s because you don’t get sanctioned for not having enough English players. If they registered too many foreign players they would get sanctioned.

Not having enough English players just means they have a ‘spare’ squad place that can’t be filled by a foreign one.

6 year contract on £150,000 a week  fair play to Kalvin, set his family up for life.

Technically won everything there is to win too at an English club.

Internationally was part of a side that got to a major final. Not bad.

Surely the next move for him is to go back to Leeds?

Far too good to be dropping that far down. He'll get a good move to a top half PL side, presuming he'll compromise on wages.

If i was him (money grabbing barsteward as I am) I would be unlikely to compromise on wages, but if Chitty pay part of the wage, he could go elsewhere. Abroad possibly, then not with a rival in the EPL.

Only been there just over a year. Wonder how long he's happy to sit there picking up the money but not playing.

Works for Scott Carson but he's pretty much semi-retired now!

Be surprised if he doesn’t get an offer from Saudi but personally having made over £45m out of City, I’d be looking for a mid prem team on a more realistic wage

If I was him I’d see out my contract getting the odd cup appearance. He’ll get no where near £150k elsewhere in England. Be daft to give that up, as well as working in the or one of the best facilities in the country.
