Notts County fan at work (Nottingham) told me they’re getting 10k at home. There are loads of notts county fans living in Nottingham city boundaries.

This is true like, it probably mattered back when clubs relied on ticket money to pay wages, more fans means better players. But since that is not the case the phrase "big club" means nothing.

Brighton could cherry pick anybody they want from Celtic, Rangers, that is all that matters.
 
If they are in the PL and can spend money they are a big club. Shut half of their ground and they are still a big club.

50k crowds in the Championship are worth a lot less than 25-30k in the PL.

Size of crowds and history (to some degree) mean nothing compared to the here and now in the PL.

Completely agree with that.


I’m just pointing out they were being talked about as a giant of the game that’s all.
 
I define a club size by its support. Forest get an average gate of 30k, thats a big club. A premier league club.

Aye and there are mags living amongst us as well. There's definitely a bit of needle to this though - Forest fans hate being called Notts Forest.
