Whisky

Good night but you just end up with “whisky blindness”
Some cracking drams…seem to recall a good Macduff ( Cadenheads?) and a nice Dramfool Bunna.
Loved the 20 year old HP but can’t remember who from.

Among the Whiskybroker samples between a mate and me nabbed a 25 year old Tomatin and 18 year old Arran 👍
I got a Littlemill 22.
Only 2 of the 3 made it home....

Cadenheads have announced a new Enigma line of bottlings which they describe as:

The first two are to be released in the next outturn, a 25yo blend for £70 and a 15yo Hazelburn/16yo Kilkerran blend for £55. When Mark Watt was head of Cadenhead he had quite an experimental approach to casks, I suspect not everything he did was fully logged which has produced this line :)
How do you pronounce Cadenheads? Apparently it's as in "mad" and not "made".

I bought a bottle of the fragrant drops Dalmunach 5yr px after having a sample it has a great nose and you would never guess it was only a 5yr also a bottle of the lady of the glen 14yr Macduff oloroso which I enjoyed. Managed an Ardmore 20, glenburgie 13 and carol ila in the lucky dip just before Bernard pulled out the littlemill 22 !
We should meet for a dram next year 👍

My son-in-law bought that 5yo Dalmunach PX, he thoroughly enjoyed it. Didn’t try it myself as I’m not a big sherry cask fan and there was plenty more to go at

I’ve heard some of the Mythical Beasts bottlings were very good - especially their Kilchoman and Port Charlotte. Also a palo cortado Caol Ila from Fragrant Drops got favourable feedback.

A mate of mine pulled 3 littlemill 22s, a springer 15, springer 18 and Invergorden 8 from the WB barrel.

I bought the MB 14 yo Ardmore.

Just wondering if the Whiskybroker festival bottles will be available to buy.
Forgot to buy at the festival, just wondering if they put bottles for sale on their site ?

I’m a complete whiskey novice, but tried a few when up in Scotland last week, including a Jura 18 yo and Tamvavulin.

I bought an Ardmanchuran on a recommendation from a Lad in the Oban Whiskey Shop, as well as a Ledaig 10 when we went over to Tobermory for the day. They do tasters in the Tobermory Distillery shop, chucked in with more spirit tasting at the Mull cheese factory, Mrs M had to drive back to the mainland. If you visit the cheese factory try the Elixir of Sage, 40% and just a batshit crazy drink.

Ardnamurchin generally good and the Ledaig is great value.
A really good value Ledaig is the Sinclair Series which you can get for about £32
