Boro thread

What is it you lot say...... Chomp ?
So, your fans only got interested in the cup once you got in the final?
In a cup that no-one's bothered about?
Surely, the tin pot final should have been ignored too then.

Admittedly, we've had a terrible start to the season - one point and down the bottom.
Only 5 games in though, doesn't automatically make us relegated - or you promoted for that matter.
Things don't stay the same forever - you had four seasons in the third tier not so long ago, more than us in our entire history.
you've also been liquidated more times than us.
had your gates padlocked more times than us and had to start a season at hartlepool's ground more times than us.

Boro should have been promoted last season really. They had the perfect opportunity to knock out Coventry before the play offs but bizarrely they settled for a point very early on.

I still think they will have a decent season, but the hangover from last season may linger for a few more weeks

Aye we all know it's a very long season. Neither Boro or Sunderland are likely candidates for automatic promotion or relegation. What happens in between those positions is anyone's guess really. You're still here sticking up for Boro when the gobshites from last season who told us categorically that we were shite and Boro were literally light years ahead of us have all vanished now.

Not bad for a club established 1986 as the fans let the original club die

It’s not a chomp, it’s the truth. Everybody got excited about a weekend down Wembley for the first time in nearly 20 years. Even before the match we were only there to enjoy ourselves. Got to half time & we were 1-0 up & we actually thought we had a chance of winning a cup.

As I said, if you want to see how important that cup match was, look at the team fielded.

Nobody said you were relegated by the way. But the downturn you’ve had since the end of last season is alarming to say the least. You were using this seasons results to back up your argument earlier on, now you’re using our league one stint that’s all but a distant memory now.

At least you’ve admitted your start to the season is terrible & not clinging on to cup matches to paper over the cracks. Ours has been average.

It’s not been terrible. It’s their worst start ever 😂😂

If Boro are indeed promotion contenders, and I'm not sure they actually are, then they need to get a move on quickly.

Its all fine and well saying theres a long way to go yet but they have already given automatic promotion rivals like Leicester a 9/10/11 head start.

So that means Boro need 4 more wins than say Leicester between now and the end.

Its obviously possible but its already looking a tall order.

Carrick couldn’t afford to have a bad start to the season with how he ended last season.

Can’t see him lasting long, not his fault mind more so the recruitment but we know how the axe swings.

Let's not start talking about entire histories eh?

Watched the highlights last night, that first QPR goal is as good a hit as you'll see in this league. Second one from Colback the keeper looks to move out the way 😂

You can’t call them that for me in any universe where Leeds United fans exist. I have the misfortune to live amongst them these days. Give me a Boro fan any day ahead of that lot.
You poor bugger. I had 10 years amongst them lot and it's left me with a deep hatred for them

They let Coventry draw and ensure a play-off spot because they were worried about playing us and it came back to bite them on the arse. Talking to my mutant nephew he's not convinced they'll have a good season at all. They've tried to replicate our recruitment policy but it takes time to set all that up and we had the luxury of doing it in league 1.
