I think the £10m is a good outcome for us, in the circumstances. But you’re right. It will be a bargain to them if they go up.
10m is good business for a lad that’s had one good season and 2 big injuries.

I reckon clubs try to hold announcements back as late as possible on deadline day when they can. Let the fans wonder/worry for a time, and then the news comes as a bigger relief etc, and people celebrate signings more than they otherwise would.
The psychology of it all is interesting to be honest. A lot of it is probably much more stage managed than we realise.

IMO he doesn’t have to because of the quality he has. Plenty of players only ever play in premiership, his time there is overdue. If he hadn’t been injured we would have been promoted last season, and had we missed out we would have been selling him for twice as much
