Russell Martin has Ross Stewart as his main target **Transfer confirmed **

Southampton can be a right bunch of twats here if they really want to. they know his contract situation. this is our last chance realistically to get good money for him. move the goalposts at this hour regarding the fee and what do we do? tell them to fuck off or take a few million less for example because it's now or never
If I were KLD I would tell them to fuck off. You cannot be seen to be bullied.

They'll just be negotiating the price. Southampton will think they have leverage because we've signed some young strikers and need the money and won't want him going on a free. Sunderland will think they have leverage because the window is done and Southampton need a striker. They'll go back and forth on prices and sign off on a compromise before the end.

Why? Its a transaction between two private companies. We as fans might be interested but until its done its surely confidential information about an employee and a private individual. Do you post on twitter when you change jobs and inform everyone of your new salary?
Yeah, do you not like?

We keep him if that was the case. Worst case, we have a quality striker when he comes back to fitness

Only thing wrong in that is they don’t need a striker

We should get some fake news out there. Say some other club has come in with a bid at the last minute and looking to hijack the deal. See how they like it that way.

We’ll find out in the next hour or so I suppose. Could always be one or two more established incomings we weren’t expecting/hadn’t heard about.

Not that much, surely?!
This Pembele kid is supposedly valued at £5 million and the other kid £2.5 million. I have no idea what their value is though as I hadn't heard of them until today.

Don't deal with them again. They have played funny buggers regarding Stewart and Roberts. They have unsettled 2 of our main players. Good work from them regarding that

This. I like your thinking here.

People are acting like Southampton have us over a barrel but they don’t. If we don’t sell Stewart and he ends up being able to leave on a free then another club could outbid Southampton on wages and or signing on fee. Southampton wouldn’t be out of the woods. He could also snap his tendon again on Boxing Day.

If the deal is off then it is a disappointment, be gone for nothing next year and by that time he is fully fit. I'd be saying to him prove yourself on the pitch and score the goals needed then we will talk about your wage demands. Sickener to lose him for nothing next year.
If he proves himself and scores the goals then there is a decent chance we make the play offs and then anything can happen promotion wise. Up to him at that stage if he still wants to jump ship at the end of the season. Personally, one way or another, I think he's out of the door this evening.
