Russell Martin has Ross Stewart as his main target **Transfer confirmed **

Every squad that he has been fit for he has been included in the Scotland squad, he can’t get a game cos he’s been fit for about two months in the last 12.
Shankland and Nisbett not jumped ahead of him though? They weren't in the squad for the games last summer from memory

Anyway as he's injured it is moot until he gets fit and Scotland name their squad later in year.

Nisbitt was out a long time, Shankland is in and out of the squad , Jacob Brown at Stoke, now Luton jumped ahead of him and he was dog shyte.

Stewart played every game in the promotion season with no back up striker. Amazing fitness and resilience. No surprise he broke down last September...and then again at Fulham. I like the lad a lot, but he did what he was bought to do..ie get us out of league one. If he never plays for us again...Ross..thank you

Agree with the sentiment that we’d of been sunk without him and the resilience he showed promotion year was unbelievable but….

I think that year was the exception rather than the rule for him, he’s been made of biscuits every other year even before he came to us

I was reading the Southampton messageboard the other day and the general football knowledge of their fans was embarrassingly bad. One even thought we were promoted from league one last season and this was our first season back in the championship.

They didn't have a clue about our players at all. I hope we fuckin splatter them.

He played a quite frankly ridiculous amount of games/minutes in the promotion season. Listening to some of the shite on here you would think he was Teemu Tainio crossed with Jack Rodwell and that Southampton were being ripped.

if fit, probably the best allround striker in the division for me last season. Didn't have the explosive pace of Gyokeres cutting in from the left. But as a striker leading the line, his movement, work rate, build up play etc is as good as I can't remember in terms of lone strikers for us. Never looked like he was going to re-sign so I'm over it if we get 10m, but it is a shame.
He didn’t play nearly enough to be considered the best striker in the division mind

He is leaving. Not long now before it'll be announced.
It’s frustrating it’s so late in the window. Yes we’re getting a good fee but no opportunity to spend it.

Can pretty much guarantee the cries in January will be where has the Stewart money gone?!

He played enough to know he was one of the best two or three. I believe he was probably the best, but I didn't say that - I said 'best all round ' which he was.

Anyone with any sense having seen him before knew how clever he was and how good he was and he showed it in the games he did play. He might not have been as emphatic as Gyokeres coming in off the left, terrorising defenders but he's a top drawer centre forward at this level and everyone could see it hence the interest and him likely still costing 10m now.
