When you know the only reason your club is playing at this level is because of a man who brutally kills people in cold blood, or tears apart families just because a child has posted something on social media. Football is absolutely ruined.

If they're lucky, they'll squeak into the Europa, but even that's alons shot. I was watching the draw in a pub in Newcastle and biting my lip to stop laughing.

They're just words marra. People using it as a comfort blanket. Seeing that draw today really hit home how envious I am of what's happening up there. Went to my first game at Roker back in 1974 aged 6 and in all that time we haven't had a sniff of anything like this. I was desperate for them to get a shitty draw with some dodgy away games in Turkey and Serbia and then they get handed this.

The only consolation is that they should finish bottom of that group but having those 3 clubs visit you and going to those 3 aways games must be an incredible experience. Makes you sick really.

I would love to see Sunderland play at top European grounds but not if financed by blood money.
Great draw for sports washing mind.
I won't be watching CL as usual, cannot stomach the sterile football but two questions spring to mind.
How much will tickets cost the great unwashed?
Will European refs allow Joe Linton and Bruno get away with what they get away with in the prem?
 
I wouldn't be too sure. Its getting group of death treatment across the board for a reason and they've beat better teams than these (Barcelona and Juventus back in the day) with worse teams than they've got now. The PL is the top league by a distance now, however big Dortmund and Milan are - they'd struggle against Brighton now.
 
Just been reading in the Beeb how the EFL dropped a bollock in the League Cup draw. The mags and Norwich got the wrong draw numbers but they’re not changing it, so there’s that lol

To be fair it’s a brilliant draw for them.
Do you qualify for the CL and hope to get drawn against Feyenord, Young Boys and Antwerp or the draw they got? Whether they get through, drop onto the Europa or finish 4th, they are 6 great games

It would be seen as a horrendous group for any of the other 3 English clubs but it's a great one for the Mags who are only really there to make up the numbers.

Imagine this place if it was us. The excitement. Those 3 teams coming to Sunderland and everyone planning their travel arrangements over to Milan, Paris and Dortmund! I'd kill for anything remotely similar to happen to us even just once in my lifetime but it's looking as far away as ever right now.
