Bar the oil clubs EVERY club is a selling club in order to invest and hopefully improve their team/squad it just so happens that there are different levels within that

Wolves sell nunes for 50 odd million and buy Che adams from southampton for 30 odd million

West ham sell rice for over 100 million and buy 3 players with the proceeds

Sunderland sell Stewart for 10 million and hopefully we will then re invest it

Trick is can you replace what you have lost and improve the teams performances and results

8 million is what we get here and now, we take off the 15% which is 1.2 so we get 6.8 million - the add ons may not even happen

look at Pickford one of the add ons was if they make champs league we get a payment…

so it says a 10 million package but the here and now its 6.8 million - which doesnt cover what Everton want for Cannon or what has been offered to Everton by other clubs…
 
Absolutely ambivalent at best due to how long it’s dragged on. Good goal scorer on his day surrounded by excellent players that played to his strengths. After 2 bad none contact injuries, I just can’t see him keeping fit long term. Bank the money and move on.
 
Gutted tbh but we all knew it was coming. Canny fucked off with the club for not giving the lad what he's worth and earned. Over to you SAFC, go and find a player as good as Stewart for the £10M and prove me wrong about the "model".

No way will the club sell Clarke tomorrow, ball on our court with his long contract. If it was a case of one or the other was always going to be the one that’s 5/6 years older.
