Russell Martin has Ross Stewart as his main target **Transfer confirmed **

Ffs he ain’t fukin gone yet I really would like to know the offer that’s on the table and like everyone else if he does go there’s not much time to replace him tin hats on for Dreyfus and speakman on sat

Southampton probably pushing for immediate return to PL so good chance he'll end up on big money - good move for him provided he passes medical.
I guess it’s a good move for us if he breaks down in November with another injury, people will say we’ve down well to hold a twelve-fold ish profit on a player. But they go up thanks to his goals and we are floundering well off the pace, will be a lot of backlash if striker situation is not sorted.

Was hopeful we wouldn't sell him to someone else in this league we're probably not promotion rivals now anyway so who cares. At least we won't have to see him score against us at the SOL this season.
Promotion rivals

sorry mate but that’s abundantly clear not happening this season

Turning 300k into £10m and signing a replacement for £2m or £3m is exactly what the model is.

This is our first real experience of how it works.

For years and years, we've pissed millions up the wall by signing players who have been useless and we've been stuck with them as damaged goods until they eventually left for nowt. We're a different animal now and players won't see us as a retirement home for failures anymore.
This is spot on.

The recruitment team need to deliver now, they’ve had time to plan and prepare……

I find it criminal that SAFC can no longer stave of interest from clubs in the 2nd tier for our best players, whilst playing at the same level. It’s a kick in the knackers and a reality check for anybody hoping to see the club challenging to get back to the premier league any time soon. Good luck to him and I’m sure he’ll be earning the money his ability and attitude deserves.

Annoyingly there are going up anyway but now it will be linked to Stewart

If anyone's fuming about this, they're in for a rough few years. Just got to trust that the recruitment team will bring in similar (or better) quality to replace him.

Gave me my greatest memory as a Sunderland fan. Wish him all the best, hope he kicks on and keeps away from the injuries.

Best on Earth.

Yeah we’ll sell our best player to one of our rivals in the same league but we’ll try to make ourselves feel better by kidding ourselves he won’t be the same player cos of an injury he’s had. Southampton do have a professional medical team you know.
As I’ve said elsewhere. He’ll leave and never get injured again. Like Broadhead.
