Gus Atkinson

Winger
Surely he’ll be in or around the England squad late this summer.

First class bowling avg - 26.64
T20 bowling avg - 19.88

Stand out bowler over the last 2 games. Absolutely rapid as well, genuine pace. Had Brook struggling badly last night.

First class top score of 91 with an average of 28.14 won’t hurt his case either.

Saw him for the first time a few days ago when he hit someone on the helmet, was very impressed with him. Looks an efficient run up but gets some real pace, maybe more to come from him. I didn't realise his batting was that solid either, England could do with a bowler or two who can at least hold the bat.

Aye get him in. No way can you not have a look at someone who can bowl 94mph. Handy if he can hold a bat as well.

Sharp run up, up to 94mph, he looks tricky to play against. 2 games in a row some top class batsmen, including Butler and Brook have struggled with him.

Johnson not so good yesterday, bit sloppy, but Gus looks the real deal, consistent.

I wouldn’t say he had Brook struggling badly - he only bowled about 2 ball to him and Curran got him out 😂

Two very good prospects that make the future look a lot brighter for England.
Some excellent young batsmen coming through too. Crawley and Duckett, (hopefully they carry on their Ashes form) Pope (although still unsure if he can cut it at Test level) and Brook are all in their twenties and then you have the likes of James Rew and Jamie Smith waiting for their chance.

Ollie Robinson (bowler) still in his twenties too.

Bloody County Cricket producing all these international players.

The issue with him is not been very durable played 3 times as many T20s. If he chose to go down that route would make a lot of money as 90mph plus bowler.

Him and Tongue both look like the next cabs off the rank. Quicker than Jimmy and Broady too.
I’m certain Atkinson will be the real deal. Less so Tongue who has been around for a long time. Did very well when asked to bowl short on a flat pitch but I’m not sure he will get the opportunities that Atkinson does in the future.

Tongue has been fucked with injuries and nearly had to retire tbf to him. His action looks very tricky for batsman to face from what I've seen, interested to see how he does if he gets taken to India.
