don't really want this to happen. seems more smoke to this though. the injury screwed both us and Stewart really. Anything north of 8m is probably sensible business....but I'd gamble.and make him stay and see it out.

Absolutely . Hel be getting offered derisory wages for a player of his qaulity . KLD is petrified to spend any money , proved that with the whole striker situation since Stewart got injured

What kind of budget-busting wages should we be offering a permanently-injured 27 year old whose played a dozen games at a decent level? Is he not a risk? His bartering power died when he kept breaking down with serious injuries, with nobody near him.

There’s one option that we might be overlooking here, he might not agree terms with Southampton. He knows he can get a better deal on a free in 10 months time.

Teams recently relegated will be able to offer him what he wants. £20k a week wouldn't be anywhere near their top earners.
 
will we turndown Southampton £7.5million quid deal or will we accept it. Me personally I would want £8 million plus £3 million promotion bonus like Everton did with simms.

Gelhart was signed before Stewart got injured. He was signed to play with Stewart.

8million for a player who scored 26 goals in League 1 then 10 in 13 games in the Championship, I think not.
