Fuck off mate.£6m would be cracking business
They won't be starting the process of finding a replacement now, they'll have been looking and sounding out clubs for monthsRoss county will have a sell on percentage as well. Presumably 20%.
When you factor that in, I’m not sure he’s worth selling for us. Not enough time to find a decent replacement and I’d rather not go until January with no experienced strikers
yes most clubs have forgotten because they havent seen the bugger play for agesI think people are forgetting how good Stewart is!
I don’t think the fees being mentioned are anywhere near what we should sell for, even with his contract running down. Worth us taking the gamble on him getting the goals to get us amongst the top of the table or even better, to take us up.
We won't be winning many games relying on Clarke for goals and rusyn might be quality but it would be massive pressureBit of a change of tack Chops. I’ve been saying this for weeks to be insulted, now you are beginning to understand
Of course when u take out amad and Stewart’s goals that not worried about scoring, becomes a lot less secureOur issue last season wasn't scoring goals. I'm not saying we don't need a striker before anyone accuses me of that, but we largely scored at will, even without Stewart.
The main thing that hindered our promotion hopes in the end was the defensive injuries.
Even one of Ballard or Batth back there for the ties against Luton and we likely progress to Wembley. If both were fit, there's little doubt IMO.
To have no Ballard, Batth and Alese who obviously wasn't fit or near ready when he made an appearance for the second leg and subsequently re-injured himself as a result, was the main issue.
I think we can get promoted like. There is nothing in the league to be scared of, even Leicester and Southampton have been ran close in every game.
Agreed. This is all on speakman and the ownersWe won't be winning many games relying on Clarke for goals and rusyn might be quality but it would be massive pressure
levy had far better cards to play-kane is a top talent at any level..stewart has done a few games in the championsbuip. Stewra's value is much less than piroe..Bit like the Kane situation isn't it? But Levy still managed to command a big fee. 6m is no good in the modern day market because you can't sign a player of even half of his ability for that price.
I'm not convinced tbh, I guess we'll get our first look at one of them this weekend. I watched Coventry miss chance after chance to put Leicester to bed in the first week and they got sucker punched. They seemed to struggle far more with us.Theyll both finish miles ahead of us like. They've got depth we can dream of and it will become vital.
I mean - you can, because we did when we signed him. But your overall point is correct, for the model to work we need to make significant money on each sale.Bit like the Kane situation isn't it? But Levy still managed to command a big fee. 6m is no good in the modern day market because you can't sign a player of even half of his ability for that price.

We dont get any right from abroad, none of them are 1st team material. Now compare that with our signings from the UK.Clarke,Alese,Ekwah,Ballard,Hume,Cirkin,.why not? chelsea dont get all of theirs reight either...

We won't win many games with a lad who's 27 and a crock either....We won't be winning many games relying on Clarke for goals and rusyn might be quality but it would be massive pressure
I'd agree if it was for a couple of million or if he had more time left on his deal, but £8m is too much to gamble on IMO.
When you look at Piroe who went for £12m despite having the same length of time left on his deal, being 3 years younger than Stewart and a track record of almost 100 games in this division versus Stewart's 13, £8m seems very fair and in line with the market rate.
