Russell Martin has Ross Stewart as his main target **Transfer confirmed **

Use the money to bring in Rusyn and Virginius and hope to god one of the 4 strikers brought in are decent

Can see where this is going. Stewart will go to Southampton, and we will announce Rusyn at a similar time. The narrative will then become Rusyn is Stewart’s replacement and the recruitment team have worked wonders in replacing such a key player immediately

Is that the same Drummaville that didn't have a pot to piss in, and Quinny had to run about finding an investor before the club went under?....aye great plan you fool 😆

Also, if the clubs penny pinching, why have plenty of players signed new contracts?...does that suggest to you that the likes of Ballard and his agent were happy to be offered pennies whilst Premier League interest was apparent?
The same Drumaville that got us in the premier league and invested to keep us there

I did this the other day to demonstrate the same point, and I'll do it again.

Sunderland are looking at signing 2 strikers. They are both the same age, same height, same speed and are essentially identical in playing style. They both play in similar quality leagues for teams of similar standing.

Player A scored 20 goals last season, 14 of which were penalties.

Player B scored 20 goals last season, 2 of which were penalties.

Which player do you think is more likely to be a regular goalscorer, just on that information?
It clearly means player A is an expert at winning penalties which is a skill in itself - the most penalties won in the Championship last season was 8 (Boro and Reading). If this chap is scoring almost twice as many penalties as the team awarded the most penalties in the league then he’s probably worth signing!

Given all the factors. Anything close to £8mil and I think he will be gone

Obvious I'd rather not lose him but considering in this same window Piroe also had 1 year left and went to Leeds for £12m, is 3 years younger and has done the business across almost 100 games at this level versus Stewart's 13, £8m would be about as well as we could do, being realistic.

So what do you think he'd worth then, If you weren't suggesting anything in stating Pedro went for 30M but Stewart was by far the better player?

I don't know, there are a million things to consider that would require better knowledge.

I was suggesting something, by the way, I'm suggesting in a very small pool of games, Stewart achieved a statistical performance that Gyokeres could only dream of and Pedro didn't.

I assume it would be something around 5-12m depending on how fit he is? What do you think he is worth? I think if he had a proper contract his value to us would be Gyokeres level.

Who said he's won them himself? You've made that up

Piroe is a good comparison.

Same length left on his deal, 3 years younger than Ross and Piroe has done it across almost 100 games at this level compared to Stewart's 13 games.

He just went to Leeds for £12m.

Given the above with Piroe's younger age and record across a far larger amount of games, the reported £8m would seem in line with the market.

Are we chucking Roberts into that, still need to sort his contract too.

Don't think his negotiations have been going on as long as Stewarts mind. Again, it'll depend on Roberts demands. He's finally found his feet after bouncing from club to club, hopefully he won't get above himself and a deal can be done.
