Sunderland railway station.

I caught the train to the match on Saturday. What shocked me was the absolutely awful dark platform areas. If the London Underground can have well lit and bright surroundings why can’t Sunderland Station?

I only realised recently that they’ve used a very, very dark grey and and very, very pale cream colour scheme on the outside of it.

How did that get past planning in Sunderland?!

I can find out the exact RAL numbers of the aluminium if it’ll help you sleep tonight.

Result then as it's neither of them two colours.
It’s more or less black and white.

I know Nexus have previously deliberately selected black and white for colour schemes at stations other than the one serving their ground for football rivalry purposes. I’ve had one of their senior guys laugh in my face when I’d questioned it.

I just don’t like seeing this extended into the centre of our city because I know there will be people up the road laughing their backs off at us about it.

Thanks mate but it’s ok. I can see what colours it is. 👍

You want to stop worrying what people from there think mate. It’ll send you mad.
