Boro thread

I live in Manchester and Sunderland are well known around there and in the main unlike the mags have a modicum of respect. Middlesbrough aren’t even discussed ever as a NE club. Carlisle are thought more NE than Middlesbrough !!!
Not really the same as being 'bothered' about you though is it?
Fans are 'bothered' about their own clubs.

I have friends/family from different parts of the country and I'd say they discuss Boro a lot more than Sunderland.
People you know are bound to discuss your club , seeing as they know who you support.

Doesn't matter anyway - our fans care so imo that's all that.matters - it's not a popularity contest.
Apparently their new striker is amazing
The one who missed loads of chances and didn’t score 🤣🤣🤣
Yes, let's get rid.
I mean - if he can't get a hat-trick in his first game he must be shite.
How many as Harry Kane scored for Bayern btw??

I follow sunderland and england in that order..dont follow or watch any other football.if a mag game was on and they were getting beat i might watch it but i would never watch a boro game unless they were playing us or beating the unwashed up the road!

Kane's scored 1 in 2 and has an assist. Good going considering his debut was as a sub.

Ooh is that a bite 😂
My lass (no) and daughter were just telling me how great he was while saying he did everything right shot really well but didn’t score but it wasn’t his fault but their keeper didn’t really have a hard save
I’m just enjoying the moment mate
Bookmark this and revell in the glory when he comes good 😁

Think a one one draw v Huddersfield is as much glory as they’ll get this year tbh

Haha what a load of shite, a parmo outside of teesside doesn’t look like one

The problem is the recruitment team, no one expects us to be challenging for promotion. Not carricks fault imo, yes he’s in a bad rut but he’s lost his 5 best players by a mile and take them out and you get what’s at best a top half championship team
Sign leagueone players to go along with all the league one players you already have like, fry Leninhan, smith, mcgree, howson crooks and coulson and guess where you’ll end up 🤷

You love to believe any football fans might be bothered about Middlesbrough. None are
The Middlesbrough supporters are. Nobody else. Just another game.

First game of the season we had Leicester. One of their supporters said it was our biggest game for years. The normal dumb comment. Then another of their supporters reminded him that our last game...the playoff final....was much bigger.
Boro are probably at their level. Sunderland are underperforming but once we get a striker in and Stewart back we'll be laughing.
Yes.

But how long do you have to wait for what is standard with a football club?

A half decent striker last season could have had you in the Prem. But seems still no urgency.

Sunderland are going in the right direction that's for sure. Bring in players that in 2 to 3 years can give you the funds to be able to compete with the relegated clubs that go down with over 100m over 3 years. But you still need to compete during this time. Strikers are a must yet it seems to be overlooked.
