i don't think his quality will be a sticking point, he's clearly a good player. but if they put him up for sale today, who would bid for him and how much would they bid?

who is asking for trail by public? he's an innocent man in the eyes of the law and is free to do as he pleases. thats how the law works
are you expecting the millions of people who have heard the recording to disregard it just because the lass chose not to press charges?

By law he is innocent as no charges were brought due to person dropping the accusations and other evidence being withdrawn so likely success at trial was impossible
He’s been at Man Utd since the age of 7 and I think they are now realising that as a club and employer they have a duty of care to the player which they haven’t really shown since charges were dropped
Yes it could have been handled in a better way by both player and club and sponsors are not against him staying
Fans protesting are women in the majority but people should remember male domestic violence happens too

Remember despite not facing charges they get named but the accuser doesn’t when the case doesn’t get pursued but the damage has already been done

Chef Evans did 3 years prison and got the sentence annulled on appeal

All been named but the accuser should be charged for false accusations if proven otherwise

You're absolutely thick as pig shit. How can you charge people for false allegations in a case where there isn't enough evidence? It doesnt mean the accusation is untrue.

the lass dropped the charges. the police can't force her to give evidence. if she wanted to take him to court, that audio recording alone would have been almost enough to find him guilty, but she decided not to stand up in court and give evidence against him, theres not much the coppers can do in that scenario

That's not the fault of the victim who is accusing though is it? I dont understand why they need to face charges if there's a lack of evidence to prosecute. Its notoriously hard to get evidence for the crime.
CPS could of proceeded with the charges even if the charges were dropped by the accuser despite providing an earlier statement
They could have subpoenaed her to provide evidence but the case must have been really weak to not have proceeded in the best interests of the law

aye they could have, but none of us know what other evidence they had, what the charges would have been, what the liklihood of conviction was and what the likely punishment would be. if he'd been found guilty of beating his lass up, whats the punishment? wouldn't be much. withouth her onside, it probably wasn't worth the time of the police. i have absolutely no problem with 'innocent until proven guilty' in the eyes of the law.
but i've also heard the recording, and i wouldn't want that bloke anywhere near my children, family, workplace, or football club.

This kind of whataboutery is not helpful. I have two boys. I hopefully have taught them how to behave. I was brought up by women, I have two sisters. I was hugely disturbed by the audio and video we’ve all seen, as most have been.
The duty of care by his club should be setting a clear precedent for women abusers and not for a very well-paid footballer. He’s a monster. He can rot for all I care.

I heard the audio recording and if it had reached trial he was done for. It was disgusting, appalling and very conclusive.
I am one for innocent until proven guilty. However, the main evidence entered the public domain and people were entitled to make their mind up based on that. Yes, he is not guilty but absolutely is a disgraceful human being.
I don’t even know why it’s a decision for Man Utd.
I wouldn't want to be his advisor but if I was in that role I would certainly be encouraging him to consider it and sounding out any interest.
