Attendance Thread - Ipswich Town

We really wouldn’t mate. Maybe for a season or two but that would be it
West Ham who are traditionally less well supported than us are drawing 60000 to watch a moderate PL side
Aye it's strange, but I just think there are more football fans than ever now. Still plenty of poor bastards in the shit financially.
The country is obsessed with football, more so than ever.

I think the demographic of West Ham’s catchment area has changed.
I’m sure there’ll be a load of floaters there.
What would have been interesting is how their crowds would have been if they had been relegated.

Since the late 1980s there are over 3million more people living in London many of which are in the east . Not to mention increases in Essex population ..If only a fraction of those are interested in football West Ham’s attendance were bound to increase substantially

I’m sure someone has studied this or at least posited an answer, but why?

I’d assumed attendances were up post-pandemic as people were looking for any way to get out and be around a crowd. Same with live concerts.

Is that the whole reason?

Not sure yet. I think I’m going to try the Mortal Hound, then Chaplins and Fitzies. Probably head over early to avoid the chaos. Are you going to be in the Museum?
I’ll be in Chaplins till about 2.30-2.45ish then head to Museum, will probably leave there at 4pm to get a cheap pint on the concourse assuming no issues getting in.

Hopefully catch you somewhere 👍
