Durham Vs Worcestershire - One Day Cup - 01-08-23

WTF is going on with the BBC website these days. checking the score and i have to scroll down past an ODI international series (fair enough) 16.4 women & men (let's not get started on this) AND some sort of t20 tour matches between canadian teams  till finally getting to our domestic cup competition

I think you’ve answered your own question. Like the ECB, the BBC don’t give a toss about a competition in the format where England are current world champions.

Key moments were poor death bowling by Durham, and Clark and Bedders hoying away their wickets when they were well set and absolutely dominating the bowling.

(I know we haven’t lost yet 😁)

How do people view Bushnell’s knock?

A. Good to see a youngun get runs against first class opposition

B. Got to be able to score more quickly than that

C. Bit of both

I would think most would go for A it’s the more senior players that have let him down.

Actually it’s A anyone who says otherwise is a knacker

Great knock imo, considering everyone falling around him.

Had he come in earlier we may have had half a chance.

He should get plenty of games in this tournament. 8 players out to the 16.4 is almost a full team.

Definitely A

Thought Bushnell batted very well and very sensible. Frustrating defeat
Yep Bedingham definitely cos us in the chase.

After starting that we had already did the hard work and got ahead of the rate.

Just needed to sit in for 20 overs an tick along at a comfortable rate.

The Worcs batters did that and then started to pick up in the mid 30 overs.

Personally expected him to bat 4/5. Was surprised he came in at 3.

Normally 3 is the player that will stay in for that middle period.

That's actually the best I've seen of him. He looked a proper cricketer (rather than a lad trying to step up a level) in both the batting and bowling and I think he carried himself with a bit of confidence. For the first time I saw what I think Whed had been seeing previously.
In racing terms there were a few out there who were DNR but Bushnell wasn't one of them, imho.
The particular were McKinney and Gibson. Obviously these are still learning. Gibson, looks like he has a nice easy run up and action, but there's no oomph in it. Needs a bit more pace, imho.

Gibson could do with some extra gym work.

He’s got the same build as Potts had until he beefed right out in the gym.
