Durham Vs Worcestershire - One Day Cup - 01-08-23

Think this competition will have been earmarked for mkinney to breakthrough.

Wonder what's happening with mackintosh
Scotty batted 3 both of the last comps and captained.

So would seem odd he'd go from that to carrying drinks.

You'd imagine him and/or Bushnell would bat 5/6.

McKinney is an opener too right, so may not be suited to that middle order role. Whereas Bushnell an all rounder fits a bit better in there.

wouldn't be a huge surprise for them to introduce youngsters in middle order despite being an opener by trade (not that i think mckinney needs that)

however looking at this mess of a squad i won't really be too surprised whatever happens. could just as easily be drissell & gibson to miss out.

Drissell and Gibson to miss out I reckon
20 overs of spin is key to 50 cricket these days.

Scotty Economy rate was 7.25 last season from 44 overs and Drissell 4.25 from 36.2 overs

Having seen Drissell figures I'm guessing this. Just don't see them dropping Scotty.

Lees
Jones
Clark
Borthwick
Bedingham
Trevaskis
Bushnell
Coughlin
Pretorius
Drissell
Glover

Absolutely need 20 overs of spin.

Glover to miss out and Gibson to take the new ball for me from this team.

A real fight for the last seam bowling spot, how that bowler goes will define the competition

And McKinney in for Borthwick. If he was going to feature in the competition at the beginning he would have played the warm up game imo

I'm just guessing mind. I'd rather the young players get a chance.

Still want to try and the win the competition at the same time.
No Carse or Potts ? Or are they away with the 16.4 bollocks
They were always away with that, as we're retained by the Leeds team.

Robinson was brought in as wildcard option for the Leeds team.

Then Raine just got selected the other day as a injury sub for Klassen for the Manchester team.

Which is definitely frustrating a couple of days before our campaign got underway

Those three and I’d fancy our chances in this . I just hope those who are brought in play well and we get a few wins

As much as I hate the Hundred and what that has done to this comp, I’m still looking forward to seeing some of the younger lads in action. The one small silver lining is they wouldn’t get this exposure and first team opportunity otherwise.

Hopefully it allows the next gem off the Durham production line to shine through.
