5th test the oval

I thought his record there was bad?
Fair enough if not, but can't see his 80mph rockets on non swinging surfaces terrorising anyone personally.

It’s not his swing bowling that’s useful in India. It’s his cross seam stuff / wobble ball variations that is productive. He offers superb control there and applied a lot of pressure the last time we were there.

Jimmy may be the greatest, but Broady is showing him how to go in style.
It will be humiliating if he doesn't get the contract next year (like he shouldn't).
I wasn't aware he was only 11 off 700, was looking up his stats yesterday. Only needs 11 to be third player in history to get 700, and 709 takes him above Warne and puts him second highest wicket taker in Tes history.

Both legitimate targets still I think. Certainly very understandable ones.

Think he was nailed on to retire after this series mesel. Now Broad has I'm not so sure. He's looked a shadow of himself this series imo and at times he's looked as though he knew his time was up.

Time to build for the next Ashes series and that won't include Jimmy.

I can see him giving himself another year. Before I saw those stats I certainly thought he'd be retiring meself.

He'll play on next year.

We need him in India.

Woakes won't be there. Wood and Robinson can't play 5 tests in a row.

Question marks on Stokes remaining an all rounder.

He's the only experienced seam bowler we've got in Asian conditions. He's also performed well in India and Asia all round.
