I think the role of the umpire has diminished to the point of irrelevance. You're right, DRS saves their dignity for the most part.

What actual decisions do they make which can't be overturned? Even 'soft' signals have been taken off them now.

Cos he hasn't taken the new ball in tests since 2015.
