5th test the oval

Those hoping for a nice, patient time conscious innings are going to be sadly disappointed

Don't think anyone will be disappointed really . Just their opinion really. But if we're still batting at the end of the day then it's all good. If we're out for under 300 before lunch again, then patience may have just been a good thing from time to time

I'd rather have conceded the lead than have the openers come in with a half hour or so left. Brilliant day from our bowlers when you consider they are all the wrong side of 30
This is the best case scenario for me yesterday. When Murphy was tonking us all owa yesterday I was thinking I'd rather him be out there than Crawley and Duckett out there after a day in the field

Afternoon lads and lasses…

Re: slow over rates, the Australians had only bowled 2 overs in 10 minutes this morning. Now the ‘presentation’ before the days play overran, meaning that they started late. They won’t take a late Lunch and you can bet your life that the extra half hour will be just that, half an hour. Not 32 minutes to encompass the two minute delay at the start of today while the players put their shirts back on following that Alzheimer’s demonstration.

Yes, it’s a whinge and yeah it seems very minor - but considering over rates have been such a massive issue all series, which has been accepted as being a sizeable problem by all sides - there’s clearly zero effort from the umpires to rectify it.

I feel like yesterday a lead towards 300 will be enough

the way we score we could be there after 60 overs or so. If people really get in they could go 350 to 400

not sure what the weather for day 4 and 5 is so the faster we get 300 the better

That snicko looks a bit dubious to me. That sort of spike is on big edges and there were numerous other spikes

it wasn’t a big edge and the umpire heard nothing

I think it’s probably a correct decision but there was a lot of spikes showing off what was a thin edge
