Bid rejected for Clarke

15m seems reasonable

Lets not forget he is unproven at PL Level and no guarantee he would deliver consistently. It is much easier in the Championship primarily as you don't come up against sides like Man City where you cant even get the ball off them. I would expect Clarke to do well in the Prem relatively speaking but how much up side there is from 15m maybe 20-25 at most
End of the day the price for him is what we think he is worth, not anybody else

Absolutely £20 million minimum for me. If other teams think its too much then they can do one

Aye.
Leaving one of the biggest clubs in the Premier League to play every week for us, and then sign for arguably the smallest club in The Premier League, and probably get relegated back to the Championship would be a brilliant career move.

If we were talking about one of the top six Premier league I would be concerned.
He is not going to be stupid enough to go to Burnley for a short term cash injection, and end up no further forward man.

He won't go to Burnley.
Oh well that’s settled. The oracle has spoken.

Southampton wanted £15 million for Tella so could be close to that figure

Looked a player for them, but was mainly used on the right. I remember him cutting in and scoring some worldies towards the backend of the season. Seems a good buy for Burnley, and it's more money out of their kitty. No wonder they're trying to get Clarke for next to nowt.

Here's hoping they end their interest, but I still wouldn't be surprised if Palace and Brentford aren't still keeping an eye on what's going on.

Burnley are a really good club with a promising coach and a decent squad. Their short and medium term prospects are better than ours.

Alongside that, they will be able to offer better terms to Clarke. If he was to go there and do well (even if Burnley went down), he’d do his career prospects the world of good.

I’d like him to say, he’s a very good player at this level, but it’s not a bad move for him if he makes it.

If they offer us what we want then he will.

I bet they struggle next season. The way they played in the Championhip was high risk, high reward stuff that they won't be able to get away with in the Premiership.

Agree partly mate, but I think there are better deals for him to get, and he will get those anyway. Let's not forget he came here to play regularly and to give himself some stability. One more year will continue to do that, and if we are still a Championship club by then, then he will probably go, with everyones blessing, to a better club than Burnley, and for more money.

There’s a good chance they will. But that’s a season of top flight football for Clarke. He’ll get opportunities he’s good enough at that level. If Burnley go down, he may get another move if he has impressed. If not, he’ll be back at the level he was at with Sunderland but on enhanced terms.

Burnley fans saying if Tella ✍️ they will not be after clarke anymore
They already had a shit tonne of right footed winger/forward types. They could do with more left footers tbh - a problem that we weirdly don't suffer from. Seem to have loads of naturally left footed players in our squad.

The lad has talked many times about being settled. I hardly think moving from here, to the move again from Burnley after already being at Leeds and Spurs is what he really needs tbh.

I think the reason he's been playing so well (like Roberts) is that he's found his place, feels loved and is settled. I don't believe a move to Burnley has unsettled him that much when bigger clubs will come calling if he continues to impress this season.

I think they have already moved on from Clarke and this latest rejected bid would have been around the time the athletic wrote that article about Clarke being unlikely to go there

I think you're probably right. Any info printed now, will be 2nd hand and likely to be weeks old.
