Bid rejected for Clarke

Hew Keef you mag tramp.

“It’s a good time to be at Sunderland, and I think all the Sunderland fans are in the best spirits they’ve been in a long time,” said Harte, in an interview with inews. “Jack loves it at Sunderland, and he’s got three years left (on his contract). "

Aw man. How many f***ing times do I have to say this ffs.
He left Leeds too early because a huge club offered the money, but his career stalled.

He left to get first team football, and build a career.
Why the fuck would he jump early in to the unknown again, with a club that is tiny compared to the Premier club he left to join us in the first place.

He is going f***ing nowhere man.
Money!

The last time Downie tweeted about us before today was 1st July - which was to state that Burnley had made a £9m bid for Clarke.

Before that it was 14th June to announce we’d agreed a deal for Bellingham.

Before that was 27th May to announce Donald had sold up.

Prior to that it was 18th May to say we were in advanced talks with Bellingham.

4 tweets in almost 10 weeks, in a time frame where we’ve played 5 matches (including 3 on a tour of the USA) and signed 4 players. 2 of those 4 tweets reporting that our star player is subject to (paltry) bids.

A bidding war between Burnley and Burnley from a week later?
Do you think it’s a coincidence that the news last week was that Burnley were no longer interested, Zaha goes to Galatasaray and they need a left winger, and within 24 hours Burnley come back in with another bid?

Is it looking like the club are happy to see Stewart and Clarke leave?
No it's not.
What do you base that question on, other than bollox rumours that bored journalists are spouting?
Ignore the shit.
I sometimes think that when things are going well here, people have to find a way of finding something to piss their pants about.

He will not leave in this window.

Fulham prepared to pay £7million to Everton for Demarai Gray.
By my reckoning that makes Clarke worth in the region of £28 million

Did you sit and work all that out?

He had money at Spurs and walked away.

He wants a career and to play.
That's why he's here. He knows the money will come with us.
Give the kid some credit for knowing his own mind.
Hope you aren't trying to say that footballers and especially their agents are more interested in playing football than earning money, and how will the money come from us if we have a fixed wage structure? As it stands the championship this season will be a lot harder than the last with the 3 clubs coming down and the three coming up from league 1 so promotion isn't going to be nailed on.
