4th test Manchester

And we have absolutely destroyed them in this one, the other 3 tests could have gone either way, where we have totally dominated in this one.

Sport is cruel sometimes we totally deserve to be level in the series and have shown great resilience to come back from 2 0 down against the best side in the world and be on the verge of leveling the series.

Shit happens unfortunately.
Nothing that has happened , has made me think our new approach to test cricket is the wrong call. Defo needs tweaking, but people moaning saying decisions were wrong, because the weather has gone as it's predicted. Stokes and England have been lambasted for declaring too early, not declaring too early, playing too many shots when not needed, not playing enough shots on day 3 of a test etc etc

It's a shit way to decide the Ashes, but I have never seen the Aussies so defensive, and worried with field position as this series. They may have retained the Ashes, but the Aussie public are well unhappy with Cummins as captain, and how they have played in general.

The thing i have learnt is that the Cricket board on here is just as Bi Polar as the Football section, so Cricket defo can't take the moral high ground, as some right fannies on here , the same as the Footy match day threads

But are deservedly 2-1 down on account of the last 3.

Test Cricket is played over 5 days, you get what you deserve over a series.
You get what you get I would agree with, not sure I would agree we “deserve” to draw this test. The time has simply ran out, deservedly or not is subjective.

That’s the great British summer for you though.

Absolutely gutted that such an enthralling series is going to end up a damp squib. The weather looks shite for the fifth Test too.

Well done the ECB for cramming the Ashes into July so their shit competition that nobody watches can take up all of August.
Just been very unfortunate with the weather this last 2 days but that could have been the case whenever you schedule the matches.

Anyway, we aren’t winning the series because of mistakes made in the first 2 tests (mainly the first) not because of the weather today

The net office is showing no sign of this clearing till tomorrow, I know it’s protocol but it does seem a waste of time hanging about

Going 2 down was always likely to leave us in this type of scenario. History shows that it’s nigh on impossible to lose the first two and come back. It’s only happened once.

Ultimately, across the tests, we haven’t batted well enough or caught well enough. We’ve been in fantastic positions and created really good opportunities and not fully capitalised. It’s very unfortunate that this test has been our best and the weather has intervened but a rain affected test in England during a five test series is always a very distinct possibility.

Need to ensure we don’t allow them to win 2 or 3-1 now to stretch the unbeaten home record but that’s only a tiny consolation. Massive shame that we aren’t getting a proper finale

Absolutely mate on Thursday afternoon we totally destroyed and humiliated the Aussies, I am convinced if it happened the other way they would have been ten times more posts slaughtering us than they were praising us that afternoon.

This England side is both a winning and brilliant entertaining cricket side that is making test cricket great to watch again.

Yet negative posts far outweigh positive posts imo throughout this series and there has been nothing between the sides.
