4th test Manchester

What a perfect day, listening on long wave, pottering about the house - I thought we were going to be in trouble today when we were 1 for 15 or whatever, seems like a different match now - some tactical thinking needed now

You’re right it’s his previous 60 low scores in a row that were flukes
Difference is mate like I say all agree with you over his previous record and have the good grace and humility to say soo.

But when he does really well all then congratulate him where you call it a fluke.

If you simply said he had been poor up to now in his career, but has batted great today would respect that.

But you can’t even do that!

If you score 200 runs, don't leave time for wickets, it's a draw, and they lose the Ashes.

England score much, much faster than they get wickets. With 10 wickets in hand, they can win with another absurd mind fuck chase, it is demonstrably more likely they do that than get Australia out, under no pressure to chase a score, in 1.5/2 innings . They have a chance. Or it's a draw, same result as above.

Even With a million runs on the board, but 9 wickets, they lose the Ashes.
The problem with us chasing last is that Australia will do everything to take time out of the game. It's a lot easier as a fielding team.

These are good batting conditions, we need to score now. Remember the other test when we were batting with rain breaks and we collapsed

You can't listen to Bazball on Long Wave, surely 😉

It takes the same amount of time to score 200 runs then take 10 wickets as it does to take 10 wickets then score 200 runs when we’re going as fast as we can realistically bat anyway

The other advantage of putting Aussie in soon is that it leaves the last word for England which will put far more pressure on them in my opinion than knowing you just have to occupy for sessions. They literally chose their team for that reason.
