4th test Manchester

I see people getting on Bairstow's case again. No chance of criticising those who keep picking him to keep though?
Surely he can declare himself not fit ?, as it seems he isn't...... Geoff Boycott quote

"My experience of playing at the highest level for so long and my common sense tells me that Jonny Bairstow is not fit,” Boycott wrote of Bairstow in his column for The Telegraph.

“He isn’t moving 100 per cent right and is short of competitive batting and wicketkeeping. He has been selected on last summer’s marvellous match-winning batting, but at this moment in time is a shadow of his best.”

I'm not a fan of bowling first if you win the toss, but I can see why Stokes does it as it fits with what he and McCullum see as England's strengths.

In saying that, I'd rather see them bat first, get a 400+ score, and put all that scoreboard pressure onto the opposition.

Batting second is ideal in local cricket where you can theoretically control the outcome in your favor - win, or draw at the least. I'm not sure the same applies at Test Match level.
