Old Trafford (Tickets etc)

Looks like Megabus down, train back for me.

Which is the easiest station to get to OT from - Oxford Road, Picc or Victoria? Sacking off the 1915 bus back as I think late finishes are likely with rain around…

Any help appreciated from you local lads, cheers.

Much of a muchness. Oxford Road is a couple of stops on the tram closer than the other two (not necessarily a good thing on match days) but you'll have to walk up to St Peters Square.

You can catch a direct tram to OT (Altrincham line) from either Picc or Vic.
Forecast does look better later in the week. Hopefully get away with early morning showers and dry afternoons
To be fair, it was lovely this afternoon. Bowling day.

Trams run into Piccadilly and Victoria, Oxford road is a 5 minute walk from the nearest tram station. Can get trams to Altrincham from both stations that stop at Old Trafford.

It was, just a bit warmer to get the humidity up a bit and it would have been perfect

Cheers lads. Picc it is then. Are the trams able to cope with demand at the end or do you generally have to wait a few?
Yeah, Picc Station is the first stop on the Altrincham line.

Gets dicey a few stops later (hence the advice to other posters to get an alternative tram to Firswood or Wharfside), but from the station you should have no worries.

Trams back are heaving and unless you dart out you'll have to wait or walk.

@NorthCountryBoy probably better off making the 5 minute walk to Trafford Bar and trying to catch a tram coming from the airport or Didsbury. There'll be other people who do that but might be quicker than waiting for a tram at Old Trafford. You will have to change in town if you're going back to Picadilly as those trams go to Victoria, but it's easy to do that at St Peters and the teams to Picadilly will be quieter there than Old Trafford.

Cheers Mike - I’d been looking at Firswood for the same reason. Just a case of how late you can leave it to hit M-Vic for 8pm.

But looking at the weather hopefully there’ll be limited need for overtime in the first three days.

Firswood might be a better bet to make sure you get on, just a bit of a trickier route to explain to someone not from the area (though Google maps is your friend). You're looking at 20 minutes on the tram from Firswood to Victoria but I've no idea how long you might have to wait to get on one.
